Nothing spectacular, but they fill holes in two of my collections.

This quarter is for my Birthyear set.

I'm VERY slowly putting together an Early Commemorative set.
Low priority collection but when things get slow I try to pick one up at a bargain price.

Well, judging by what I have seen you post here lately, those two will be joining a very distinguished family (that 1795 1/2C was fantastic).

    Nice new additions BTW!

Very nice. I love the early commemoratives!!! But, putting together an entire type set is not cheap. Thanks for sharing!

Very nice with great luster! I chuckle every time I see a RI commemorative, since someone pointed out that it looks like the Pilgrim is giving the Indian a high five.

I looked up the rhode island commemorative on coinsite, mainly because I think the obverse design is primitive and I wondered who did the design, the site said that the designers made the design with a view to future oxidation in creating a black/white pattern. The designers were local artists, I am not sure but now I am going to keep a lookout for toned rhode island comm, just to see what effect the designers had in mind. Thanks for sharing your new acquisitions with us.

Thank you for all the compliments.

Since I "talk the talk" I try to "walk the walk".
The philosophy I'm referring to is, "Buy the best you can afford."
But I have to add the words "within reason."
I don't go for MS-68 or higher, and not too many MS-67's either.
Don't want one coin to wipe out my total collecting budget.

    Thanks again.
