Found this guy tonight. Took several photos to share and get some advice. I do not like my scale. It reads 3g. Cannot get grams in tenths. Who can recommend a better one for me to get on amazon? Let me know what you think about the coin.
Here is the one I have: https://www.amazon.com/Weigh-Gram-D...jbGlja1JlZGlyZWN0JmRvTm90TG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ== I don't trust your scale at all.
Whichever one you end up getting, choose one that comes with calibration weight(s). This way, you'll have it handy when it comes time for you to calibrate the scale.
Yeah that scale was bought years ago not for this purpose. I will get a new one for sure. I did zero it out and threw a nickel a couple of times and it still read three but I still don't like it.
I've always had a question that bothers me. How do you know that the calibration weights themselves are reliable? LOL.
If you start questioning that...you will never be able to stop questioning anything. The very fabric of life will begin to unravel in front of you.
Hahaha. You know, for electronics, you can (supposedly) rely on the UL label. For coins (again, supposedly), you can rely on the TPGs. And so forth. I was wondering if, for those calibration weights, can we look for a certification mark or something?
I use the one a step up from FurryFrogs a bit older but same company.. I needed it originaly for Ct weights/jewelry but it does grams just as well lol
Try putting a 1983 or later zinc penny on it. Just to see if it reads 3g also. It's probably rounding up from 2.5g.
