I can’t really help with identifying this coin, but I can, with complete certitude, confirm that this was minted in the ‘BC/AD time period.’
It is Judaean. Third year of the war against Rome from about year 68/69ad. Second picture is upside down; it is a jar with a lid.
Actually it is the year 3. The giveaway to quickly distinguish year 2 from 3 is that on year 3 the lid is on the amphora... Hendin 1363. Year: 68/69 AD. Edit: @tartanhill beat my post by a minute.
Well, to be really certain, you always need to add a "ca." at the beginning! Just in case you're wrong and it's some era other than those two.
I found one of these in my local dealer's junk bin. It's not pretty. Judea, First Jewish War Æ Prutah Year 3 (68-69 A.D.) Amphora with two handles and lid with paleo-Hebrew inscription Year Three around / Vine leaf on branch with paleo-Hebrew inscription The Freedom of Zion around. Hendin 664; Meshorer 204. (3.70 grams / 18 mm)
