1966 penny cud and rev mint error?

Hi good morning everyone! I need opinion please... is this cud in the obverse and the rev is mint error? Thank you so much...

If it were a cud how could it leave the letters?

 

I think you just got some kind of gooky stuff there.

 

Looks like somebody spilled resin on it.

 

This one needs a dip in acetone @Marites Foertsch . See if that "something" will come off. Fast Eddie is correct. It can't be a cud and leave the lettering.

 

Marites, I think you have a coin that has something spilled on it. Try soaking it overnight and use a toothpick to see if the area lifts off.

 

Glue.

 

Our fellow enthusiasts have it covered. Soak in acetone will probably lift the glue/varnish. Note that the patina on the coin changes under the coating. It's a good indicator. Good luck!!

 

I agree . Looks like a massive spill. Cuds don't usually looks like this .

This should help you out for the next time you think you got one. I like this one for its straightforward presentation without all the mumbo-jumbo. I also like that this guy got Ken Potter's advance-permission on some of the copyrighted images he used as that's how it should be done...

 

Clarification: they can't look like this. Other than that everything else you said is fine.
