Good morning, This was a Recovery Hunt. I am recovering from a traumatic incident I went through last Thursday .. A few members know that I ended up in the Emergency Room trauma unit after a bad molar extraction. I had severe hemorrhaging most likely caused by my high blood pressure and failure of the dentist to properly take care the gum wound. The doctors, nurses and in hospital dentists did an amazing job in taking care of me! One of the things I was told to do was rest.. no heavy lifting and no leaning my head foward too much. My question was "Can I metal detect?" The Doc said "No! Not for a week!" I finally went on a short 3 hour detecting hunt yesterday evening to see how I would feel and it went good. I'm still a bit weak with the loss of blood but my anxiety went away just being out again! Here are my finds.. No video today 1 - Winged Liberty Head Dime 1943 4 - Wheat Cents Misc Modern Clad and Cents 3 - Buttons It's nice to still be here with my fellow CoinTalk friends (and trolls )
Wow, I'm sorry to hear that. Molar extractions suck in the first place - only been through one but it wasn't pleasant. Winding up in the ER from one would just be hellacious. I'm glad you're recovered and welcome back. Amazing finds, makes me wonder about investing in a metal detector, now...
Holy crapoly Ed. Sorry for your misfortune and happy you are still with us. Take it easy, you know, baby steps? Nice haul, considering the fact you should have been home resting.
Thanks. Since I purchased my 3rd Metal Detector last year which is the AV Minelab Vanquish 440 I have done extremely well in detecting silver! 2020 - 96 Silver Coins 2021 - 41 Silver Coins
Another nice haul. Glad to hear you are recovering. High blood pressure needs careful lifestyle. Stay happy and healthy my friend
Yes! Thanks. This was me around 3AM in the recovery room. I had low blood pressure and was still dizzy..
Good to hear you're back in the saddle. Don't overtax yourself. If you find a dental pic on your hunts, throw it in the river at Shoelace Park.
Been there done that, I know how much it sucks being in the Hospital after my last time (1 week in ). Now I feel anxiety because I need one extraction as well . What did the Dentist have to say for himself ? I would be pissed off !! I would make him reimburse you for Bills and time off from work .
Glad to hear you're able to get out for awhile. Take'er easy for a bit, it's only May 1. Plenty of time to get up to speed.
Glad to hear your on the mend Paddy. Please do not over do it as you could end up in worse condition. Bending and exercise are the 2 worse things you can do so please take care of yourself. You are more important than anything that you may find. I’m sure it felt good to get out and a silver Mercury Dime is a good find and it looks to be in decent shape after all these years.
Ugh, glad you're recovering. I've been having bad memories of my wisdom-teeth escapade, because my daughter had hers out (all FIVE wisdom teeth thankyewverymuch) this week. Fortunately, it went a lot better for her than it had for me, and even my experience wasn't as bad as yours.
Happy you are doing well. I'll bet those ground hogs were having a field day moving those coins around while you were out of commission. Welcome back and be safe.
D-AM, Ed. Take it easy buddy, we need you around here. I've found that the two pains that seem to be the very worse are mouth pains and foot pains. Take it easy and don't over do it.
Sorry to hear you had a bad experience with the dentist. Glad to hear that the hospital staff was able to come to your aid. Take it slow, don't get stupid, and do what they say for a speedy recovery.
