    Half-Dollar coins

    I've got rookie question...

I constantly ask the tellers if they've got any half-dollar coins. They look at me like I'm from Mars.

Were can I find half-dollar coins, let alone rolls of them?

    Thanks in advance!

ask around at other banks. The bank i have my main account with WILL NOT order halves so i found another bank that i opened an account with. Just ask if they will order them.

    Just got a roll of 2009 P Nickels. :D :D

Too bad I didn't have them when Manny was selling them on ebay.

Where did I find them? Puerto Rico (Like Manny). A friend of mine went there so I asked if he could get me some.

    Ryan,
Maybe you could take the tellers a treat... a couple dozen cookies.. or some bagles from panera bread .. then ask again at you main bank .. Sweeten them up and ask again.

Went to a small bank, close to my in-laws, and got 8 rolls of halfs. Found seven 40% (1965-1970). Could have been better. :)-O)

Rockdude suggested that I post this here. Wasn't exactly found in a roll, but rather a bag of "unsearched" wheats that I got off of Ebay for the equivalent of about $1.50 per roll. I was going to wait until it was slabbed to post, but I'm so excited I'll go ahead and post it here anyways. You can see the coin here:

    I doubt that, unless it was a 1996 S.

    Wow, jallengomez.

So I realize that I have not found any Jeff nickels from before 1968 that had a mintmark on it :eek:dd:

Finally realized they moved the mintmark in '68. :headbang:

Lucky for me, I had saved all nickels before 1960, even though I "had" them already. And to celebrate my newfound knowledge, I got 25 rolls of nickels from the bank.

So far, I have gone through 14 of the rolls, and found (among other early dates) my first found war nickel, a 1943P. (below)

Then I went back to the extra coins & the coins I had placed in my son's album. The 1950 that I had found last week... It is a beat up D :D

Got another Box or LP4 Pennies, Went through about 20 rolls just to search for that MS67 + .. I must say.. Not great quality this year,, Still looking .. but those will be rare...
As for the rest of the searchers.. I am taking a pile of pennies to the bank to put back into Circulation..
About a Half box each or all the 2009D designs.. .. Searched for errors and GEMS.. But I only kept one or Two a roll if that..

Will be putting my Boxes up on Ebay this week.. I bet I can still get 400.00 for the set... I am done with the 2009 for now.. DONE!.. So Done..

If your going through Idaho.. get some rolls!!

I Have found that Idaho is great for rolls.. Some of you have said that big cities are better for searching,, I have searched rolls in L.A. California and in Weiser Idaho.. And I must say.. The small farm town banks have stuff just sitting around for years.. I have found nice halves.. Hundreds of them..
    Road trips can be great

I bought a bunch of OBW rolls on eBay. One roll of pennies were 1958 Ds. Were in OBW and sealed plastic holder. They all looked like they were struck yesterday. Many were near perfect. Best roll I've ever seen. Anyway all are super nice bright shinny red coins and most with hardly any distractions with this exception...on the reverse most have the "O" in one flattened at the 11:00 position and E. PLURIBUS is flattened and in many cases unreadable.
