How am I confusing the two? My point with the definition of COIN was to show you that this was not COINAGE, because they aren't intended to be COINS, and cannot be COINS.
I also feel you would better understand my post if it didn't get EDITED. And when you say the designs of whats minted today... What exactly do you speak of?

i mean just about everything thats minted today. state quarters and on down. theyre minting them all so average joe can get a cheap collection of coins that might (never) be valueble.

Okay, that is what I thought.
In your post you say the designs of these coins, aren't great in comparison to what is minted today?
So you think the Lincoln Cent, Jefferson Nickel, etc, look better than these Liberty Dollars. (Not attacking you, putting you on the spot or anything like that, just want to be sure I have the right information, as this post and the other post don't add up, to me anyways)

wheat cents are about as modern as i get - it was my first real attempt at a collection. past that coins dont catch my eye. theres so many different types of the same denomination yet i dont like any of them.

So are you saying you like the Liberty Dollars better than the coins minted now, or the other way around. :D LOL
And yes, I don't really care for a lot of the modern designs, with just a bunch of dead presidents either, but I guess we gotta live with it. :(

the liberty dollars are a little better. i also think the coin you have mentioned as your favorite would be my favorite - $20 one ounce peace. :smile
