Do you have any idea if they are the same all the way thru? If it was me, I would open it just to see, I'm working on filling a folder from circulation tho so I'm a little biased
My husband says to open it lol. He always brought some others home but not in rolls. I really have a lot to catch up on in the coin world. Left the bank in 2003 so now it’s even more interesting to me of the finds.
Well, I can’t say anything. I have almost $150.00 in small dollars stashed in my safe. But whether you open them or not won’t make any difference. They are interesting and sorta cool when you get them. But they will only be worth a bucks each any way you slice it...... And again, this is coming from a guy that has kept every small dollar he received over the years!
If it hasn't been opened in 17+ years probably a good chance that a lot of them in there are Sacagawea dollars also, those are neat too!
Me too, but I have started to take them in my pocket change and give them in tips. I most frequently give them to the girls (they are girls - HS) that sell refreshments at the golf course. They do enjoy them and ask about them. Otherwise, they are worthless. Take them out and spend them. The Treasury has billions of them in their vaults that nobody wants.
I've never bought any, but I definitely keep any I find in change, probably got about $70 FV by now...
I know I buck one of you now and then, but many do not look at it for money value. You keep yours for a reason so hey, it means something to you. Just saying.
He was at the store and his assistant said someone paid with them and then she is in charge of the safe so he swapped out a pile of dollar coins and jfks. So he knew I was into the coins with dad’s foreign coins and U.S.
Yes, open it! Be sure to check any Prez dollars for "missing edge lettering". They could be worth $50 each in circulated condition and even more in MS condition.
