in my pocket change . I've been checking my pocket change all year & have only found 1 LP2 & now the log cabin. It is a 2009D & i'am wondering if people have been hoarding them or what ? I find this very odd for a new penny realeased many months ago:vanish: its like they disappear
i've only gotten 2 in my change so far. I look in the till at the end of the night at my work for them too. but none have been found in there.
I have run into a lot of them, (lp-1s) mostly d mint, I have been putting them in a baby food jar, I guess that qualifies as hoarding. just got my first lp-3 in a roll tother day, no lp-4s yet in change or rolls.
Every time I get change, it is a 2009 penny. I get LP1's, LP2's, etc., you see them, it is the norm over here.
I've found several of each LP1, LP2, LP3. No LP4's yet. All in String bank rolls from $25 boxes. To my knowledge the mint has not released them yet.
Here is south central Michigan I have found a few 2009 cents, nothing else. Most likely the banks are receiving recycled coins of all denominations from their sources and just haven't needed to draw on new production. I was reduced to buying zinc LP 1,2 and 3's to update my holder. :headbang:
I have never found one but I also live in a rural setting. Probably the same money circulating around here for the last twenty years.
