I know I know. Another interesting to me. I figure keeping all of these coins for my son and 40 years down the road, he would enjoy them.
A lot i out f coins were minted in 1964 and that was 57 years ago. In another 40 years they will be 97 when your son gets them. Maybe you should collect 1 of each coin from 1964 and give to him in 43 years. Then they will be 100 years old.
Yes I am saving from the 1800s to all dates. Have the whole states set never taking out of tube. I won’t be here then lol but he loves history.
There were over a billion P mint and over a billion and a half D mint '64 nickels minted. Brian's Variety Coins lists over 50 doubled dies and about a 1/2 doz. RPMs. With that many pieces out there, a keeper ought to turn up sooner or later. I agree though, the magnitude of them appearing in roll searches is staggering sometimes.
I always liked the 1964 nickels. Many had such a bold strike. Still find a higher grade one in my pocket change sometimes.
