Are you kidding? It looks to me that there is wear...so it can’t be MS. I believe the hit in the neck is too severe to earn the coin a 58. It’s an otherwise very nice coin so I’d call it AU55.
Lol. Now you're talking to yourself. Look, hits are a criteria in reference to Uncirculated grades, not Circulated grades. You want to go by your own "book" on grading, go right ahead. It only serves to show how much you misunderstand. Fortunately, NGC still understands what it's doing, unless you think it somehow missed those obvious hits you're referencing, and anybody with eyes can plainly see. The far better explanation is it didn't miss a thing; rather, it still knows how to grade. It knows those hits are irrelevant to the Circulated grade.
Hits on a coin are absolutely not ignored in AU coins...that’s why AU58s always look better than MS60. Because without the wear you’d have MS64. You don’t see really baggy coins with a tiny bit of wear graded AU58...you just don’t.
Haha...no. I had an 8 hour continuing education class yesterday and with the social distancing it's pretty obvious if you are taking a phone break. So, I was trying to hide the phone under the table and respond quickly.
