Looking at this penny I found on my living room floor. Y'all tell me what you think. Ddr?ddo? double ear? Double dragon? All opinions greatly appreciated. Thx.
Worn die. it caused the 'orange peel' look on the surfaces as well. COins like these are for spending.
According to error-ref.com, there's 2 causes of trails. Die deterioration and clumsy die polishing. You can read about it on this site: http://www.error-ref.com/?s=trail+lines Your coin also shows some split plate doubling on the reverse. Above the letters TED and ST.
@Jacob Couts When searching for DDO and DDR Varieties the correct numismatic terminology would be Doubled Die.. Not double die. Doubled die (not “double die”) is a numismatic term referring to doubling or repeating in the design elements of the die which creates the coins. As the term suggests, it is the die that is doubled and then used to create thousands of coins. https://www-grandrapidscoins-com.cdn.ampproject.org/v/s/www.grandrapidscoins.com/blogs/entry/what-are-doubled-die-coins?amp_js_v=a2&_gsa=1&format=amp#referrer=https://www.google.com&_tf=From %1$s&share=https://www.grandrapidscoins.com/blogs/entry/what-are-doubled-die-coins
