Need help 1986 d penny maybe ddr maybe double ear?

    Looking at this penny I found on my living room floor. Y'all tell me what you think. Ddr?ddo? double ear? Double dragon? All opinions greatly appreciated. Thx.     I know of the 1984 but a 1986, not that i remember and Not a dd just spend it.

    What are the lines above the T E and D in United? Just curious for future finds.

    Worn die. it caused the 'orange peel' look on the surfaces as well. COins like these are for spending.

    According to error-ref.com, there's 2 causes of trails. Die deterioration and clumsy die polishing. You can read about it on this site: http://www.error-ref.com/?s=trail+lines
    Your coin also shows some split plate doubling on the reverse. Above the letters TED and ST.

    When searching for DDO and DDR Varieties the correct numismatic terminology would be Doubled Die.. Not double die.

    Doubled die (not “double die”) is a numismatic term referring to doubling or repeating in the design elements of the die which creates the coins. As the term suggests, it is the die that is doubled and then used to create thousands of coins.
