1991 S proof set 1c MD?

My eyesight can't tell if I am looking at a reflection or MD and need help. Also, entire set is darkening to a gold tone except for the dime. Hair on obverse still has original finish making Roosevelt seem like he has a dark tan on face, neck and even the ear. Reverse has the same appearance. Does this toning happen to entire sets?

Number one , It looks like what I call "reflective doubling") . I have sets only far back as 2002 and mine are fine. So, maybe it's just toning .

 

I just looked at a few of mine (69 and 70) and they look fine. I'll look at some more later.

 

Thanks, it only caught my attention due to the toning when I pulled it out of its case. Pulled out a couple more to make sure the darkening was for real. I've had it put away and only look at them once in awhile to admire how sharp the strike is as they came out from the mint. Pics don't show the dime as described and color is a light bronze on both sides of each coin except for the dime. Just strange it would happen to every coin in the set...idk...lol

 

My 2009 mint sets all have gotten rainbow/reddish toning on the pennies particularly and some of the dimes also, not sure how that happens since they're sealed...

 

It can depends on where you put them. Moisture, heat, cold, sun, near salt water, etcetera. Natural toning can be gorgeous or down right ugly.

 

You mentioned Roosevelt but you showed pictures of Lincoln. So I’m a little confused but in either case it looks like a form of toning.

 

The lincoln I was asking if it was mirror doubling or MD that I was seeing and needed help. The dime is the only coin that shows a partial toning affect that gives Roosevelt a deep bronze tan look on face, neck, ear and lower part of hair and top 15-20% of hair is normal. Reverse has the same appearance and my pic didn't pick it up as goid as it really looks. Sorry if I confused anyone..

 

hey @Bargainbidder I'm thinking like @SensibleSal66 and the reflection from the case is what your seeing. its really hard to give a good quality answer without holding the actual set, IMHO that is. the close up pictures look as if someone painted outside the lines.....great pictures all the way around. good luck to ya man
