WOW! But seriously, they couldn't have given me any more, after all the stuff I've done for them... One question though... I wonder what the sellers are getting? If they get the same thing, I bet we will have some infuriated sellers! HIT THE DECK! So anybody else get one of these?
They also apologized to Sellers for screwing up a discount promo for listings: "eBay Sellers: A few of you may recently have received a note from eBay in your My Messages inbox with the subject line: "50% OFF Auction-style Insertion Fees--Nov 23-25." Unfortunately, this message was sent in error: There was a promotion planned for this coming week that was cancelled. There are currently no plans for a 50% off Insertion Fee Promotion on the dates mentioned in the prior email. Please note that any listings created during these dates will be subject to normal Insertion Fees. We apologize for any confusion that this may have caused."
I did receive that message! They owe more than apology for that though! They also need to issue an apology to all the sellers that were selling Saturday Night, and give them some compensation or some kinda coupon or something. If everybody didn't get one, then maybe it were those who lost an item on eBay that night? (Like I did)
I bid that night too and lost. on purpose though, I just didn't need a duplicate of a decent looking coin that sold for $140, although the coin could probably be relisted and sold for $200+
I don't think I bid on anything Saturday, but I got one of the coupons. I take it back I did bid on and buy a Conder token at a very low price. Got a really good deal and a 10% off coupon! Wonder If I got the good deal because eBay was having problems?
Conder that is the exact reason why you got such a good deal Take a look at this thread, and see some of the items that Charlie picked up! http://www.cointalk.com/t79711-4/
So I get a really good deal, the seller loses out, and I get a 10% discount coupon? Must be eBay logic.
Sellers got this: "Second, in keeping with eBay's outage policy and doing what's right for sellers and buyers, we are taking the following actions for listings that ended during or within an hour after the outage (9:45am Saturday - 1:00am Sunday PST): We will refund all associated fees for Auction-style listings and refund pro-rated fees for all active Fixed Price listings during the outage. This refund should be reflected in your next eBay invoice. We will remove negative/neutral Feedback and detailed seller ratings (DSRs) lower than 5 stars given by buyers for affected Auction-style listings. We will alert the eBay and PayPal resolutions team in the event that a claim of item not received is filed for an affected listing. We will be sending a 10% coupon up to $100 off to buyers who won Auction-style listings during the outage for any inconvenience. We fully understand the impact of an outage of this scope on you, our valued partners. We sincerely apologize for the disruption to your business. I want you to know that we are continuing to focus our teams and resources to ensure a smooth and rewarding holiday selling season for you. "
Still don't really think that is enough to compensate. Just imagine all the sellers that lost a bunch of money!
Hey play your coupon right and this could be you...I got an Oz. gold in 1/10oz Maple leafs for only $ 1104.72 the 10% Coupon, bing cash back ,& e bay bucks. Not a bad deal getting an oz. of .9999 in 1/10 oz coins for less than spot!
Not only that, but a couple days ago they sent out another email issuing a 10$ cashback coupon with paypal/ebay. So if you use them together...
