The date seems kinda bold compared to the wear on the portrait...I'm no expert, but that jus' doesn't look right to me. Good luck with the TPG...I hope it grades.

The Breen book says "Weakness in the centers" is common to that date.

Looks real to me and a B1. I think it has been brushed or whizzed, but still I think it is genuine. Good luck. I would grade it VG-8, but no telling with a TPG. Good Luck!

Thanks for the attribution. I needed that. Definately a Bolender 1? If it comes back VG8 details, Whizzed, I will return it.

Well I think it is a B1, but I could be wrong. And I hope you get the grade you want. Not knocking TPG's, but I have seen worse slabbed. It could just be your pictures, but I still like the coin. Good Luck and let us know how it comes out.

Nice looking coin, it looks hairlined from an old cleaning, and the right obv. field may have been smoothed a bit. Just my impressions from the images, which could be wrong; hope it slabs and look forward to the follow-up.

Honestly I dont think a cleaning should keep a coin that nice looking out of some plastic.

Glad it worked out for you!
Just be careful, I highly doubt that all great deals like that are the real thing.
My first impression was that the coin was probably fake.
Anyway, great job on the steal of a deal, and glad you are happy with the coin!

Thanks, getting a deal like that definately is rare. Probably the best I have ever had in coins to be honest in 10 years as a collector.

My theory was that if I pay by credit card thru paypal there really is no risk of getting ripped off. If the seller had not sent me a coin, paypal would have refunded my money. And if the coin had been fake, either paypal or my cc company would have credited my account. The seller offered a 7 day refund period for me to send it to a TPG which I took advantage of and really, with all of those factors, I had a free shot at the coin and it just happened to really work out good for me.
