I mentioned in another thread recently that I bought an 1810 LC & an 1814 LC and would post them when I had time to take pics, here we go... Got them both for under $85 combined, probably overpaid just a little... Who cares LOL The 1810 is quite a bit lower grade than I like but it was a pretty good price and makes a nice filler date, (it's an 1810/09 overdate as well so that's cool)
not bad the 1810 as worn as it is still easily a 50 coin being a 09/10 and the 14 and easy 30-40 so you got good value.. I'd be happy with either one for the $20 lc set all I can say is take is slow and really hunt... there are a lot of nice LCs that can be had for cheap
@William F- If the “$20 Large Cent Guy” approves (which it seems he just did), it looks like you’re golden. There’s a fella who knows a thing or two about hunting large cent bargains.
Please use a black or dark gray background. The light coming off the white background is washing out the images of the coins. I'd like to get a better look at them.
Nice coins but you probably could of gotten them for half the priceit took me a while to buy mine in auctions for steals but its worth it $10-$20.
I'd totally go for it! Don't worry, I'm not going to try to find that online LOL, I've got an 1803 that's OK for now
Is it just the photos or does it seem to you like it was slightly flattened/elongated at some point? Interesting
Is this any better? I'm sorry if it's not, I'm trying some different things with lighting and other stuff to try to improve my pictures....
I like those real old large cents. I have an 1846 and 1852. It was in my father's stash when he passed and left them to me. Thanks for the pictures.
waiting is A hard part.. the worst is setting your limit and watching the coin sell for a buck more...
Also, for those looking at that 1810 and saying no way to 50.. all i can say is try to find one cheaper... I've yet to find one that wasn't a cull for the $20 LC set.. the fact that it is a clear 09/10 adds more then enough to make up for the lack of other details
I have... Trouble with this LOL, Was recently bidding on an NGC graded F12 1796 and my ceiling for this particular coin was $175 (It was a pretty nice example) ended up going for $177.50 in the last 4 seconds...
I've lost 3 different Washington colonial cents this way just last week. One didn't meet sellers reserve.. which was stupid high since the bidding broke 100 on a "details" coin... just checked and he put it back up as a bin for 140
Definitely! I prefer a well-circulated copper that did it's job well, rather than a flashy MS one... MS condition is great for silver coins but not as much for coppers, IMO
