OK guys so I’m kind of new to this and I have had this link and sent for a while now but never got around to asking about it. Can someone please inform me on what’s going on with this and if it holds any value. I’m mostly interested in if it holds any value. I do see some doubling going on on both sides. Thank you!
Not likely you'll get any money besides the one cent the government says it's worth. Not seeing any doubling.
Ya know, there’s not a lot of people left out there that has a passion for coin collecting/hunting, I can’t just ask anyone. Especially me being as young as I am, I’d get laughed at for asking such a question. So with all the smart ass remarks, if you dont have anything that pertains to the topic at hand, please move around because I feel like every time I come here to ask a question, I’m met with some loser that some how replies within seconds of my post and says nothin but something a dude that still lives w his mom would say.
That particular kind of doubling don't hold no value to nobody. That bumpy surface is characteristic of having been subjected to a strong acid wash. Looking for a money coin, this ain't it, keep swinging.
The type of doubling you see is one of the forms of NAV or No Added Value Doubling. It’s copper coated zinc and should be spent.
@pmilli22 please remember that your coin is a Zincoln, made from a zinc core with a thin layer of copper over it, so there are hundreds of issues with them. I believe you have a "plate doubling" issue, where the copper plating is disturbed. Also called "Plating Disturbance Doubling (see error-ref.com). As for flippant answers, everyone here gets them at some point or another, so grow a thicker skin and ignore them or put that member on "ignore" and move on.
