1984 D Lincoln Cent Mint Mark Error?!

    Stumbled across this little guy and was wondering what’s going on here with the mint mark and if it holds any value. Your opinions are much appreciated. Thank you and happY hunting!!

    No premium as this is just damage. A split in the copper plate allowed exposure of the substrate to air and moisture. Hydrozyncite set it and started its ugly work. It’s a spender.

    Are you nuts? If you save it for a few decades, it won't be worth anything because there won't be anything left of it.

    Zincoln cents are the worst thing the mint has produced, in my opinion. They are full of oddities that new collectors think are error, but the are not. Zinc rot occurs when the surface of the copper plating allows air and the elements to get to the zinc and begins rotting it, as already posted by Kevin above.
