    Weight is normal It was chemically treated e.t.c something removed the copper coating most likely?whatever happened to it its not an error.

    any thoughts, it is magnetic although not very strong.

    You can't remove copper coating....from an all copper cent... ;)

    That being said, OP's coin is definitely plated or coated in something, possibly dipped in mercury.

    Thanks all, I sort of knew that but being slightly magnetic makes me wonder what kind of plating it might be.

    They didn't make cents like that in 1960 which should tell you somebody did something to it...

    I sort of knew that but wanted confirmation, Nickle, ahhh yes that would be slightly magnetic. Thanks all for the input.

    I have several nickel plated cents, not done by me. Slightly magnetic is the tell, as previously stated
