Hi, I just finished a box of nickels and found the following: 68S x 2 69S 70S x 4 I was able to find the nickel mintages online but not information about if these were produced as proof only or not for those years. Anyone know? Btw, I also found these: 39 41 X 2 43 -> yeah! 47 52 54 57 2001 Canada nickel with a beaver looking critter on it. JAC
Actually, 1968 - 1970-S nickels we're struck as both proofs and business strikes. Production #s: 1968-S: 100,396,000 business strikes, 3,041,506 Proof strikes 1969-S: 120,165,000 business strikes, 2,934,631 Proof strikes 1970-S: 238,832,004 business strikes, 2,632,810 Proof strikes
Dear me. It would appear that I have egg on my face. In the words of SNL's Rozzana, Rozzana Danna....."never mind".
One of the 41's was in surprisingly good condition. I don't collect nickels (except the silver of course) but I hold on to the pre 60's in case I change my mind
Add more egg, wrong SNL character. Gilda Radner played both characters but the one you are thinking of was Emily Litella. It's a common mistake and probably 90% of people attribute "Never mind" to Rozzanna Rozzana Danna.
