Yes, Nic-a-date does "damage a coin", but if there was a mint mark under there, it goes from a .05 value to a 5.00 or 25.00 hole filler coin. you can tell it's a type 1 from the way the Buffalo is standing on a mound vs. a flat line. And from the angle of the mound under his chin. I've found rare buffalo nickels using nic-a-date, that have become great hole fillers, and even with the "damage" are worth significantly more than the .05 i paid for them.
Total skunk job this morning. It's rare, but it does happen. I was too busy looking for more V75s. They're harder to find than i thought. I was being a little cavalier yesterday when i was bragging about finding three in 24 hours.
If you haven't figured it out yet, there is a little something wrong with me, a little imbalance. I am aware of it though, and i acknowledge it, and try to catch it before it gets away from me. It's mostly impulse stuff. Like finding those V75 coins, and immediately putting up a contest to give them away. No thought involved, just impulses. I also am never satisfied with certain things. This week's haul, for example. Some ppl would say, holy mackerel @CoinJockey73, your weekly haul is amazing! Not for me. Then i found this, this morning, and i knew everything was OK. My 7th winged liberty, found in circulation. The coin gods have been good to me this week.
Slow week, but I'm ok with it. The other v75 quarters aren't shown because i mailed them yesterday. The third is being mailed today. I accidentally deleted the address yesterday, lol. Sorry!
Haven't found anything since^^^besides the W quarters also keep an eye out for the new 2021 crossing the delaware quarters also.
I've been seeing the Tuskeegee one a bit, nothing special. I'm thinking I'll never find another V75 again. That's OK, let the silver resume.
Did that one already. Need a little break! Did some buying recently. I'll post when everything comes in.
I didn't find, but this is my thread, so I'm going to post whatever the heck i want, lol. Gifts from a fellow junior numismatist. Not 1,
