Neat commemorative. I have a thick, and think yours is a thin, but can't tell if it is weekly struck, cause the photos aren't very clear.

Appears to be the thin variety, but the photos aren't really good enough to guess a grade IMO.

The photos really aren't very good, but I'll give it a go.

    XF45, AU50 at best.

Sorry about the photos, but this was the hardest to get a decent photo of. The reveal:

Wow! I'm embarrassed, and I owe your coin an apology!

I really see no luster, and devices seem weaker then my 62 and 63

Huh, so it is a thick, I had a bit of trouble photo'ing mine also.

I've wanted both the thick and the thin one, but haven't acquired either. I got started on Norwegian commemoratives some years back and have concentrated on upgrading them.

Well, it certainly proves that you can, indeed...one way or another...put a squared "peg" (of sorts) in a round hole.;)

Can anyone give the history of this coin? I am not well versed in many areas of coinage and the one in this thread is confusing. It's pretty, but I have a lot of things that are pretty. Some from the far east that I have no clue as to what it is.

This is from an extraordinarily knowledgeable member of a different forum who specializes in the early commemorative series (you'll want to expand the quoted text):
