    Pictures are too small.
I can see some wear and some luster, but that is about it

What is the process for getting them posted larger? I'm following the instructions. Total file size is 250kb.

It could be your pictures, how much did you shrink them from the original size?
Try posting them to photobucket, then paste the [IMG]

That is funny. They are only 120KB on my end. Also, most programs allow you to save the picture in a larger size without taking so much memory.

or bring them down to 230kb and they some times post to 245kb
also try to make your pics a bit brighter they are a bit to dark

Original file size for each picture was way bigger. I reduced the file size size.
There are two pics @ = 250kb. So I suppose, that explains the 120kb size.
Therefore, can I make each picture 250kb? Also, I notice on even the different monitors in our house, pics show differently. Thanks for all of your help, gotta run for now. I'll try re-posting later..

You need to get the original file, and upload to photobucket, then get the [IMG]

What file type did you use ? If your pics were .bmp, .tif or something similar and size was 1mb or more then save them as .jpg files and the pixel size xxx X xxx will remain the same while the file size mb drop to kb.

Question - is the background in that pic really that blue ? If so use something else. If not adjust your settings.

File type was .jpg. Again, when coin talk specifies a 250kb maximum size, is this per picture or the total for all pictures in a post?

Also, background is not that blue, so I'll try adjusting exposure, etc.

I think I've found the answer..I was using edit function in my app that resized original picture as it reduced file size...

I'll try this other edit function, it looks like it maintains original pic size.

    Thanks for everyone's help!

    key date

a 1927-p peace dollar is a key date.an ms-60 will cost about $69.00 dollar but will be better if you send it to grade.to ngc, pcgs or anacs.then you can check the price in the grey sheet.or numismedia.

    AU would be my guess.

Agreed, AU50 to AU55. I see some bag marks on Liberty's cheek, and some on the eagles wing, which detracts a little bit. I'm also guessing that is original luster and not just a photo illusion.

The luster is original..thanks for your comments..I agree with your grading. AU-50-55 range.

I find Peace dollars harder to grade than Morgans due in part to the weak strikes on many of them.

1927 Peace Dollar - Coins Mag Article

I just bought a 1927 yesterday too and interestingly enough there was an article in the January 2010 issue of Coins magazine that talked about "sleepers" - -coins that the author believes to be underated considering their mintage. The 1927 Peace Dollar was mentioned. Your coin is nice!! I bought mine at my local dealer. He graded it at MS-60. I like your coin - nice luster!! Mine is at least AU. I have a hard time distinguishing between AU and MS lower grades.

So do I..with my untrained eyes, I originally graded this MS-60-62. That's why I post. It's good to get some feedback with some unbiased feedback. I may submit it for grading.

    At any rate..I hope it's a sleeper!

I'd guess AU 53, and that scratch on Liberty's face will not do much for the value.
