I found this $20 star note in my wallet one day and i looked all over the interne for an awnser but i never found one and o i would like to know what a $20 star note is worth if it is from 2004 and a "fw D 6" in the right hand corner and the number is "EG 03277476". -Thank You
The note (Series) is very new and unless it is in Gem condition, I am afraid it is not worth too much over face..maybe to the right collector you may get a little premium but not much.. Post an image if you can.. RickieB
I agree with Rickie, unless the note is in superb condition...it's only going to be worth face value.
not much money if is a circulated note.a new in crispy condition will cost around $30-$40.bucks.did you check on ebay?
With such a new note, I think it would be hard to get $40 even if it is in choice crisp uncirculated condition.
The best place I've found to see how many of a particular star note were printed is here: http://www.mycurrencycollection.com/reference/stars/
The only place to find any updated information on star notes is in the "Bank Note Reporter's Paper Money Market sheets (retale)". The Green sheet doesn't have information on regular star notes. The only other information you can get good information from is in "The standard Guide to Small-Size U. S. Paper Money 1928-Date" by John Schwartz. Good luck. -O) Any star that you have in fine or better, I would keep for a long time for investment, if you are young and can do it. Just think if when you were young and could have saved rolls of coins, or currency in small amounts for later plarge profits (look in the books for the amounts that were printed). Good luck. -O) Do you know that only half of a % of the total production is printed of any series. They are printed before the regulars issues are printed, to be inserted as needed. Go to a bank and get a 100, 200 ones and see how many stars you find. If you go to a bank, that has new currency packs, you can tell which ones are replacement notes, they are the ones that have oblique stripes instead of straight stripes. from the US Bureau of Engraving & Printing.
