Just got the results back for my first time submitting coins for grading! Exciting experience honestly but always nervous sending stuff through the mail even though its registered. My grandad had left me a pretty big collection as he owned a Gold/Silver shop back in the day and I really appreciate the hobby. Decided to submit 8 coins from the collection that I thought were grade worthy and I guess I picked alright! A lot of the coins are in this type of condition but I wanted to submit some of the morgans first as they are some of my favorite US coins. Pretty pumped that I had no details grades in the lot, probably a good sign for the rest of the collection. Did you guys struggle when first submitting coins? I did a good amount of researching before submitting this lot.

You did good. There are a few coins in there that I would like to see. 84CC, 78CC and the 80S +*.
    Can you post some photos?

@Josh Webb that's pretty darn good for the first time. Like Paul said, let's see some photos of the MS66+* and the MS66+.

Well done!! At the risk of sounding like a broken record, I too would love to see them.

Since most people wanted to see the 66+'s, these are the certs for them. I know the 80 S is not a hard date to get in a higher grade but I thought these were gorgeous. Kind of kicking myself for not getting the NGC "True view" for them but I didn't know the effect they had until after I shipped them. oh well I know for next time lol.

I also submitted that 84 CC for a PL designation but didn't get it. I could literally read entire documents off the surface of that coin lol. A good amount of stratches on those CC's but the strikes are so nice.

Nice return. Too bad on the PL but I think NGC reserves that for the higher grades.

Not really, there are MS61PL and MS62PL Morgans out there. It‘s not about the grade but rather about the contrast of devices and fields. I think the 84CC Morgan has prooflike surfaces to some extent, but the contrast is not strong enough for the coin to qualify for a PL designation.

Your grandfather not only knew what he was doing, he knew to leave his collection to someone who knew what he was doing. Keep going the way you're going, you're making the old guy proud. And do show and tell, it turns us on. :)

Just an FYI PCGS Customer Service is a joke. Grading is good but both times I have had to send my coins back to them because of issues on their end.
