Jackpot? We'll even if it's not a Proof, I paid $100 for it. Talk about a score, as long as it's not fake lol

The toining looks artificial.I don't know this series well but it doesn't look proof to me.I'm in the VF range possibly details.

17.5 million business strikes, only 485 proofs. Proofs of this are 1 of the scarcest to find and you would pay thousands for 1 not $100

I agree with above statement. It was cause by some sort of chemical or substance that got on it. or it was toasted in a toaster oven.

Toasters and artificial Toning don't sharpen and define devices...

we cant even really see the surfaces in those pictures. not well enough to see if it is sharp and defined. Theres almost a 0% chance you have a proof coin. around 0.002%.

Kevin set the coin on a stable surface and get a few good photos.
No one can take a detailed photo with a moving coin and a moving camera. I will be happy to help with better/clearer photos.

the reverse is slightly off center. Not a proof. and the details look normal, not super defined. Looks like a normal coin in vf condition.

It has the details of a VF20, I don't see the squared off rims associated with a proof.

I've never seen a VF20 with such a perfect eagle before, but thanks for the input. I'd pay what I did for it 10/10 times, even if I didn't ever get my money back :D

And that is your right. If it spoke to you, then buy it, many of us have learned that in the raw market, if you want an example then buy it up, when reasonable. There are some good details on that coin.

It isn’t a proof. No indicator of proof whatsoever. Business strike VF coin.

yeah everyone is entitled to their opinion, but if you think this will grade as VF you probably need to start back at square one...

What would you grade it at, Mr. Expert?

Oh speaking of expert, remember that 1896 that I thought was a proof? Well you were right it wasn't a proof. You said it was "Cleaned, AU at best. Worth $10"... here, this should shut you up "Mr. Expert"
