Found this in a roll this morning. Pretty sure it's a clash... 1984pflrev.jpg 1984pfullobv.jpg

I'm not seeing it i think its just a heavily polished die making that appearance,The fg is quite faint.

I think those are plating blisters. Not a Clash issue.

Ya know how they said a "details coin will always be a problem coin." That Zincoln will always be a crappy Zincoln. JMHO

For sure a die clash and a very crude attempt in die work to remove it.

Also, I think it is a grease filled die on Lincoln's shoulder

I'm interested in learning more about your statement. Can you explain what is meant by "... crude attempt in die work to remove it"? What signs do you see? Thanks in advance.

This is heavy die abrasion on this coin:

The attempt to to remove the clash has left marks almost as bad as the clash itself. Poor workmanship. This seems to be a trend from the Philadelphia mint, at least from what I’ve seen. JMHO

Thanks. I see it. So they "over scrubbed" (for lack of a better term) the die to try to remove the clash. Are dies very expensive - is that why they don't throw it away when there's a die clash?

I don’t know the cost per working die, but if you take into consideration they changed the composition of the cent due cost in 1982, they were probably try to extend the life of each die.

The over polishing, mostly to the left of the Memorial and the heavy tooling marks in the left bays. Spent the most amount of time trying to remove the clashing in bay 3 which is usually minor to begin with, instead of the heavy clashing further east. It looks like the tech may have been having a bad day or in overly in a rush.
