So, I go to pick up my four boxes of halves to "hunt" this weekend. All four boxes: brand new 2020 Kennedy's. What a waste of time. Oh well, pick up another four on Wednesday. :(

ouch and I thought getting 3 boxes of new nickels 3 times in a row was bad enough.

Never happened to me in over 20 years of hunting halves. Quarters, Dimes, Nickels, and Cents, yeah, not halves. Oh Well! Had to happen.

Weren't the 2020 halves made for and sold to collectors only?
Did they make them for circulation?

That's kind of crazy. I've never seen solid boxes of NIFC before.

Well...I know without pictures it never happened, so here are a few. These are just two of the boxes.

All P's or D's or is it mixed?
Just missing the 2020s for my folders.

I can see some mint marks but can't distinguish. So which mint, and are they all the same? And have you really opened and checked them all or are you just going by the enders? Maybe other "valuables" hiding inside!
If true (all 4000 coins), think of all the collectors who will not be able to get an uncirculated NIFC - ouch! Or maybe not ouch - maybe the mint is just dumping them because there aren't that many NIFC collectors. At least I got a 2020P (from CRH).

That's unusual. We were up to a near insane 16 boxes per week at one point. That's when the banks had counting machines you can just dump in. Every box was from the banks' reserves, which means they were from $1000 mixed bags. Never once did we get an unopened box direct from the Federal Reserve to the bank. Bad luck, though, times four boxes. Better luck next time.

I get boxes every week and have never had this happen. I have four more coming next Wednesday. These are all Denver. I'm out here in California. I'm going to take them back to my dump bank, not even unwrap them, so I'm sure they will be back in the wild soon. Just thought it was odd since it had never happened to me before.

@furryfrog02 I'll pull one from a roll and replace it with something else. I'll send it to you with the other set of coins once I get a quarter.

    Awesome!
I've only ever received solid boxes of 1994P halves which in itself was weird because this was like 2 years ago...But at least those were made for circulation.

Just shows you how they can't give these away. In a manner of speaking. They're that backlogged because even the circulating ones aren't circulating. Spend some of your rejects every now and then. One time at a fast food drive-up window, I had to explain, it's a half dollar, that's like two quarters, before they accepted it.

That happened to me at an A&W here. I was waiting behind this older couple and they were trying to pay with Eisenhower dollars. The clerk couldn't figure it out and called her manager (young of course). They told the gentlemen they couldn't take them because they didn't know what it was. I had to laugh. I bought 25 of them from the couple and told the clerks they are "legal" tender. It was quite comical.

Well...if it wouldn't cost an arm and a leg to ship them, I'd sell them to you at face value. :)
