Went to the bank today and picked up a box of pennies and nickels from the nickels I found the following
    1 1954S
    1 1943P
    1 1942
    1 1939P
    6 Canadian comm.
    1 2004 UNC Canadian
    1 2007 UNC Canadian
    1 1957P
    1 1958P
    1 1940
    1 1948D
    1 1946D

From the pennies I got lucky again

    3 Log cabins
    1 Rail Splitter
    1 1949S
    1 1957D
    1 1940
    1 1916P I cannot believe I found this!

What are the odds of going to the same bank 2 days in a row and getting a penny that was made before the Great Depression.

A Bit off topic.. But To any searchers who live in Vegas.. A great town for coin hunts! .. There was a old casino in the Downtown Old district that Had Penny Slots.. You could go in there and get Buckets that have been just circulating and circulating around that casino.. Who would carry out pennies.. and in Vegas.. No other casino I know of has Penny Slots..
Casino was called The Golden Spike..
    Still there?? Might be??Good Luck!

Just finished a box of halves today. I do believe it is the best box I've had in two years. It has 7 40% halves. they were 66's and 68's. I also found a well circulated 1986 P. You don't find them everyday.

Just wondering about this: when y'all get boxes of halves, are the halves in paper brinks rolls or not? All mine are and I was wondering if I'm just getting halves from the area, which means ill probably run into ones I've gone through soon =\

went through some more of my $500 box and found a 2002, 2005, 2006, and a neatly toned 2000!

    Shutout

Curses. I just knew that after claiming never to have been completely shut out of silver on a box of halves my next one would stink. NO SILVER.

    Three proofs:

04S, 89S, 74S. The '89 might as well not be a proof, it's been worn more than most '89d and p coins I've seen.
Also found two '03P coins. Big whup.

Plenty of bicentennials. Some guy at my work wants me to save them for him. I told him, "There are a lot, are you sure you want them all?" He said he did. The last couple of boxes I've found about $90-$100 per box of bicentennials. I'm not so sure he wants that many...

Picked up $450 in halves today from a bank that said they've had them sitting around for a while. Got $100 worth yesterday from the same bank and found 3 silver coins (all 40%). So I figured I had a reasonable chance of finding more silver today. Here's the break down:
    1 1962 Franklin
    50 1964's
    142 40%

all-in-all $96.50 in face value silver. My last four boxes were all skunks but I can't complain after a find like this. It's still out there in large quantities.

Most bank tellers wont take the time to look in the vault to see what they have. Some banks they are so understaffed they dont have time and some tellers are just plum lazy or maybe they get tired of collectors like us bugging them.

    mrak, that's just awesome!
I've hit a cold spell for the last couple weeks.
Finally got $50 worth of halfs from a local bank which contained one 1967 Kennedy and one 2007 Kennedy. Hey, I'll take it! I seriously think that I and some other guy have cleaned out the entire Charlotte, NC banking system!
    Time for day trips... :)
Going to the mountains for Thanksgiving... a lot of small towns. I'll let you know!

It looks to me like a 1922 D with that has been altered. The no D should have a clearer last 2.

I found some Eisenhowers I bought that are dated 1971, 1976, 1974, and another 1976.. Aren't these supposed to be 40% silver? They don't sound like it when they get dropped nor do the rims look it.

I belive the only silver Ikes are proofs with S mint marks....unless I'm mistaken.

You are mistaken. :p :) Silver Ike's we're produced in both proof and uncirculated finishes in 1971, 72, 73, 74 and 1976. You are correct to say all silver Ike's have an "S" mint mark. - Accept at least one Denver issue struck in silver by mistake.

    WOW

I have also found better luck loose directly from the bank instead of searching bank rolls (except for my two barbers)

Went to a bank on the way home yesterday, asked for halves & Ikes. They had 45! Ikes (took them all, they mostly look AU to MS, but no silver) and five dollars in halves.

    Every half was a 64.

I feel like giving up on rolls & just going bank hunting , but even in NYC, there are a limited number of banks :(
