What is the difference?I have a whole roll of these tinted quarters. http://s766.photobucket.com/albums/xx302/miketmmil/?action=view¤t=scan0003.jpg
I'm not sure I understand your question. Both coins appear to be normally colored, so what is the "tinted quarters" reference about? You say you have a "full roll of these", but show two different ones: A South Carolina quarter, the third of five minted during 2000 as part of the 1999-2008 State Quarter series; and A Guam quarter, the third of six being issued this year as the Territorial Quarter series. Are those the only ones in the roll, or does it include others?
I was comparing the South Carolina dark tint to the normal look of the Guam in the photo. The South Carolina has a bronze tint to it.And no the roll includes all states and all the backs of the coins have a bronze tint to them.Don't the colors look different?
They look different but I thought it was just poor photography (shadow/ uneven light). Maybe the coins used to be in an album and had started to tone before they were removed. I know many of my quarters have started to tone. It's nothing rare or valuable.
The S. Carolina quarter looks to have the same color of the coins my wife saved in a coin book with soft plastic sleeves. The quarters were just slid into the sleeve, bare against the holder. They all turned color. I assume it was a reaction to the sleeves. I don't know what the obverse of your coins look like by my wifes were completely discolored on both sides.
