I had a nice haul from the reject slot of a Coinstar today:

I believe this is the first time I've found a half dollar in the reject slot of a Coinstar, let alone four of them. The total face value comes in at $3.64. The Bourbon Street tokens are interesting; they could be souvenir tokens from the Bourbon Street Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, which closed in 2005. The car wash token is neat, too.

Amazing how many fools sit there shoveling coins into the machine whilst perusing all their farcebook, snapcrap on their phones etc.

I guess some people who may never have used one of these machines before simply do not know there is a place to accept rejects, or don't realize that the machine will even reject coins. Let's face it, no one reads the directions.

Worth noting about this find is this Coinstar is located literally at the front of the store right in front of the registers. There were customers walking right past it and even hanging out by it messing about buying lottery tickets or what have you.

Yet no one noticed this very obvious, proverbial treasure just waiting to be found; nor did anyone even flinch when I started gathering up the coins, either.

A couple days ago I noticed coins in the coinstar. I waited about 5 minute while a guy shoved money into the lotto machine and scratched the cards on the coinstar machine. 18 inches from the coins. I got them. BTW the machine tells you a couple times to check for rejected coins. People amaze me sometimes... not in a good way.

I had used them quite a bit, but had only counted a small amount of change before sorting, and it was dead on accurate. It's a shame they got rid of them. I'm not paying anyone 12% for something my lazy butt can do in an hours time, myself.

I literally hate that effing lottery machine. I cannot tell you how many times I have missed out on treasures because some person had their voluminous posterior parked there scratching off lottery tickets.

I think this qualifies as my best find of the year, and other than a Canadian bi-metallic looney I found last year, this may be my best find ever . . . . . .

Now, to see if they're still in business or have a location near me . . . . .

    Found the glued together Zincolns too . . . . .

(I wonder if their quality is similar to Taco Bell . . . . ?)

i have posted before on this. Unknown to most, coin counting machines have ONE OR TWO INTERNAL REJECT TRAYS! I have been fighting with VYSTAR CREDIT UNIONS over this. I usually make them open the machines and there are often piles of stolen coins. I was dumping a box of Kennedy halves and it captured 11 of them.

Google it. A news station once sent a reporter to 14 machines. Only one was accurate. A family saved $441 for a vacation. It paid them $401.

Once I asked for the coins and was told no because they had to be audited. I asked why and they just walk4d away.

Damaged coins can be exchanged at the Federal Exchange and foriegn coins can be sent to a currency exchange. It’s pure profit.

This is the only thing that I've found at my local Coinstar in months.
