Not sure why it didn't get postmarked, but it got here faster than I expected!

Thank you, I will. I used to collect stamps but lost interest in the late 70s after the bicentennial! Was really surprised to see these in modern postage!

I've been using stamps like that from a collection I bought for swapping on Numista. (They don't carry much of a premium.) I'm surprised that a eBay seller used them though, no tracking?

This was on a recent envelope that I received from a Cointalk Member.

Was that from me? Lol. I sent an envelope with 2 forever stamps and a air mail one a few months ago. I cant remember if it was you or another trade on Numista, haha.

Tracking was 100%, delivery was way quicker than a bunch of other orders I'm now waiting weeks for!

One reason for using those type of stamps is that you can't even get face value from collectors.
You might as well use them for postage.
Stamp dealers will pay about 50-80% of face value.
I use them for mailing occasionally.
The problem is the number of stamps required can leave no room for the address.

3¢ stamps were in use for years.
Do your math and see how many would be required to mail a regular 1 oz letter today.
    The answer is --> 19.

Haha, I know!!! I've sent envelopes with coins where over half of the white is covered by stamps. :) I wonder what the post office worker is thinking...

My friend, I just got charged 75 cents to send a basic envelope with a birthday note for my daughter last weekend! Couldn't believe it!

Hmm. Unless its over 1 oz or oversized it should just cost 55 cents...

That was one of the envelopes you sent me. I didn't know if you'd mind that I mentioned you in my original post.

No problem, haha. As long as you don't show my address :hilarious:

Most cards are considered oversize anymore.

That's what was odd, it was a standard thin letter sized envelope, no card, just a note and a mercury dime pendant!
