If you want to try to be nice, notify the seller. My experiences say that most sellers either do nothing or, worse, just get mad at you. Therefore, I just notify eBay and avoid all the hassles with sellers.

Choose to report the Item on Ebay.. Also Contact seller to let him know.. He may end the Auction early..
I Purchased 2 Trade Dollars out of Canada.. TOTAL FAKES but unmarked as Copy or Replica.. They ended up being lost in shipping and then the seller told me he had found out the items he sold were all fake so refunded and said if they do show just keep them.. Well they showed up.. I got them free.. so cool for me.. I use them as Tools and a Warning to myself..

I can't sell them.. legally.. and would not want them to go to some dirtbag who would try to sell them as "real"...
I would sell them as Antique 1930 Chinese Trade Copies.. And thought about it.. thought there may be collectors out there looking for that type of thing.. But then I run into all the issues of having /selling an unmarked fake..

Getting one is so much easier then getting rid of one.. if you have morals..

Contact the seller and find out what kind of person they are...

I contacted seller yesterday.. no reply.. So did report item today..
All need to.. I am not a good Judge so any pro who can clearly state how it can be clearly shown to the ebay tech who checks the listing that its a fake.. please report the item.. on the right side of the page click "report" then as "BANNED ITEMS" Then in the "Currency Coin Stamp" Then "Fraud"

As a seller (And Buyer) It is very helpful for all to show these type of sellers the door...
Ebay can be great .. Take the time and search.. Everything is there.. Best of luck to all!!!

I wonder how long it will take eBay to take this one off, or if they will.
    This is plumb ridiculous!

It is going to take a long time. It is not a coin!

That is obvious to you and me, and although stated as a coaster, newbies look at it and think it's a coin. It is in the wrong catagory, it states that
THE SMEARS, WHITE SPECS AND ETC. ARE ON THE SCAN BED OR ON THE 2X2's.
Talks about their coin orders, etc.

Would anybody in their right mind pay $26 for a coaster?

I agree the people should read the entire listing, but I still feel this is just wrong!

    Still Violates the Ebay Rules..
Listing is as close to a fraud as you can get

I reported it but ebay might just let it go anyways...

Fraud!? In big bold (literally) he states what it is and you want to call that fraud. You have got to be kidding me. Some people need to stub their toe to learn. This might be a toe stubber, but it is anything but fraud. There is just no way from keeping everyone and anyone from ever making a mistake like bidding on the wrong thing. Calling an F-15 coin VF-20 is more like fraud than anything this seller has done.

Just for curiosity, which eBay rule do you think it violates.

    ITEM LOCATION MISREPRESENTATION

That would be the first category

Well, I was wrong. They pulled it. I did not look at the item's location. What was wrong with that?

I run stuff in other categories than what they are sometimes but this one was just to close to being a scam..
Just a Hint.. I found Unsearched rolls of wheat cents in Military Antiques once..
They came from a WW2 ship so he listed them under navy stuff...

Glad they pulled it... Nobody needs to be burned..

I didn't get there in time to see it, but if it stated what the item was I don't understand the problem. Don't know what this particular coin was, but if I had a coaster of say '09 s vdb I'd stick under the lincoln cents category so as to get my item in front of people who might actually have some interest in it. I don't see anything wrong with that as long as you clearly state what you are selling.

It was a 1916 Liberty half coaster listed under Liberty halves! I do not understand what is wrong with that.

I'm with you there. Where else are you going to find people who might be interested in a '16 half coaster. If I had any such novelty item-a t-shirt, a bumper sticker, a clock...whatever...if it had anything to do with a particular coin, then that coins category is exactly where I would park it for bidding.

It's title was listed as a 1916 Liberty half dollar, no mention of it being a coaster except in the lower description, and being listed in the coin catagory just wasn't right.

It was wrong to list it that way, and eBay finally did something right.
