Was wondering if this is die deterioration or if coin was struck with smaller diameter die? The evenly spaced strike separation on both sides and other than back shoulder inner lettering is pretty clean is why I'm asking. Thanks
I'm a little tangled up on your question. It's not a DDO. And "doubling" on this coin is simply a consequence of the strike.
Worn die = ridge ring, die crack on obverse and doubled second 5 which is referred to as a "Poorman's Doubled Die". But not a true doubled die, just a nick name.
