    Here's one I enjoyed for about a year. I just sent it off to Ken Dorney as a couple of back surgeries necessitated converting coins to cash.

    I'll follow the lead of some of my other colleagues and "adopt" someone out of the country: if I win I'll donate it to @Cucumbor.

    Thanks @Santinidollar for the contest. For some strange reason, I'm just now getting into Jefferson nickels (guess it is just a continuation of the Buffalo nickels I collect). Just won this one.

    Entry post. My first ancient coin Polish_20210322_233442002.jpg was drawn to it as I love small coins!

    War nickels are among my favorites. I’m lucky enough to have a registry set.

    That's a nice note @SensibleSal66. I'd love to have it in my own collection.

    @SensibleSal66,

    Here's one from my personal collection. The picture isn't the greatest, but unlike yours, it's not a star note.

    I applaud you @Santinidollar and others on CT who have been generous in giving away coins. You've set an example to a number of us to be generous to the CT family. Hopefully, I'll follow suit soon since I have a number of duplicate coins I'd rather give away to my fellow collectors.

    Lately I've been interested in building a set of IHC proofs. Here's one I recently purchased from an online auction. These are the photos from the auction site. The coin was graded Proof 64 BN by ICG. I'll probably crack it out and submit it to PCGS at sometime. The coin looks much better in hand. The devices have a blue/brown patina with nicely mirrored fields. My only reservation when bidding on it was some concern about an old cleaning. In hand it looks original. 249_2.jpg 249_3.jpg

    Thank you so much @Santinidollar for this contest.

    In the unlikely case that I win, I would also like the prize to go to @furryfrog02 for his son.

    This is the first coin I ever won at an auction, a very small one:):

    AR Trihemiobol
    12 mm, 0.945 g
    Thessaly, Larissa, ca. 356 - 337 BC
    BCD Thessaly II 327; HGC 4, 475;

    Ob.: Head of the nymph Larissa ¾ facing left, wearing ampyx and necklace
    Rev.: (ΛAP) IΣ/(A)IΩN, Thessalian horseman, wearing petasos and chlamys, riding right, holding whip

    Very kind of you @cmezner
    Here is 2 pieces that I carried around for awhile. It was fun to show it to coworkers. They know I'm a coin guy and were always asking about coins so I decided to show both of these bad boys off :)

    edward i kingston.jpg

    Edward I (1272-1307), penny, 1.33g, class 9b (1299-1301) Kingston-Upon-Hull mint
    OBV: Facing bust of king, trifoliate crown, +EDW R DNS HYB
    REV: Long cross with trefoil of pellets in each angle, VILL KYNGESTON
    (s. 1426, n. 1037/1)

    Class 9b is a common class, but Kingston-Upon-Hull is not a common mint. In fact, this is the only class to feature Kingston-Upon-Hull. In terms of Edwardian pence, this is a "key date".

    If I should win, please donate to a YN.

    Thanks for the contest.
