I found these coins that my father had, and I was interested in knowing what they were. some of them are from foreign countries, others are US, and some I'm not sure if their coins. I took some pictures (with and without flash) of them, both sides. quite a few are in rough condition. If anyone can give any info on any of the coins, such as where they came from, their value, general history, It would be very much appreciated. Well the 1921 Morgan silver dollar is a common date, and its not in great shape, so its worth about its melt value. Same with the 1941 Walking Liberty half. Whats the date on that Mercury Dime?

Second pictures, second row, far right. Japanese bronze ¥10, date appears to be late Showa, but unreadable without greater contrast. Worth its face value of ~11¢. Second pictures, fourth row, second from left. Japanese cu-ni ¥100 dated Showa 42 (1967) also worth face value of ~$1.10. Second pictures, third row, far right. Asian cash coin, image upside down in the left hand pictures. Second pictures, top row, far right. Probably a modern replica of ancient Chinese spade money.
The Ben Franklins are 90% silver and worth at minimum over $6 a coin at today's silver prices. The Kennedy half dollars, unless in Mint State (uncirculated), are worth 50 cents.....go spend them. The Ike silver dollars are not silver unless you see an "s" mint mark. They are cool coins but not worth much of a premium at all (I just sold 62 of them on e-bay for 72 dollars. After fees I'll make less than 3 bucks). The Morgan (your 1897), is 90% silver and a definite keeper.

Oh, and as you can see, I'm very new to this site, so before I do something on this site I'm not supposed to, is it ok to have a post on paper money? I ask because I also found an envelope of interesting US bills, like silver certificates and some other things I don't know much about... I just wanna share them with people and see what they think. If i can, I'll see if I can use my friends scanner (I'll do some of the coins, too) so i can get sharper pics... and not have to worry about running out of batteries, lol.
I think the "Chinese" cash coin is actually from Annam (Vietnam). It looks like a than thai thong bao with a tap van reverse. Please compare with the second to last coin at this site. Gary

I suspected that it wasn't Chinese, and knew it wasn't Japanese, leaving Korea and Annam. That's why I described it as an "Asian cash coin".
