I ended up with a bag of a hundred or so sixpences from a large mixed lot of coins I recently purchased. I was fortunate to pull 15 1952s out of the bag. Not a real high value coin, but a decent cherry pick out of a bag of rifraff. There were 2 silver ones in there as well.
Cripes, someone else is as foolish as I, but I have had mine for a lot longer. I also have lots of threenubs, bobs, florins and halfcrowns - mostly in silver.
I was at a coin store buying a lot of British coins from the junk bin and the guy says "If you like British coins I have a lot of sixpences. I'll sell them all to you." It was an opportunity I couldn't pass up. I've been slowly selling them off. I've made my money back and then some so it's all profit from here on.
