Here is a gold coin. I question the authenticity because of the huge die crack through the R on reverse, and the floating heads. PLease let me know what you think, and help me identify. IMG_18316.jpg IMG_18317.jpg

    dimensions: 21 mm ~ 4.4 grams ~ 98% AU ~ 1% AG traces of CU (XRF +-2%)

Not my area of expertise.... but it sure looks like a cast fake. Bubbles, edges and a funny style

I agree with Ryo, it looks FAKE, especially with the irregular surfaces ;). Pictured below is a genuine solidus from my collection, Sear #734. The coin posted by J.H. looks like a FAKE of Sear 738.

You have a nice coin. Thanks for showing it to me. I agree with your assessment and I will label it fake and put it in my fake box.

On the bright side gold melt value is pretty high

I agree, it doesn't look real. I've been looking at a lot of these recently

I agree that the coin does look weird by itself, but when you compare it to @Al Kowsky's example, the differences are pretty obvious. Nice coin, by the way, Al.
