Your RAREST Coin od All Time..All Time!

Fourteen Years ago, December 1995 before christmas when this coin arrived unexpected in MY LIFE or never been in my dreams. This coin certified and graded personally by Mr. Alan Hager of Accugrade in Baltimore Coin Show in Maryland, March 2000. This is my RAREST Coin of All time. I called it UNIQUE DOUBLE DENOMINATION 1995.

You said plastic cheerios. Since when are the Cheerios Sacs plastic?

Well, this is what I meant ok.
I haven't touched one before, and assumed that that's what they were.. Just some plastic coins until I realized that they were Sacs after putting more careful thought into the post.

Well, this will be my last post in this topic, but for future reference I would suggest you not be so elitist in your posts. I don't know if that was your intention, but that's how it sounded. I'm sure you can understand how someone could be offended by someone saying their collection is less important than yours because of book value. Like I said, whether that was your intention or not, that's how it sounded.

I think what BNB wanted to ask at the beginning was for us to post our rare AND valuable coins. Of course, the way he asked it came across as very snobbish. Most of us don't generally collect things over $500. And when we do, its usually something common, like gold.

I had a hard time deciding what to post in this thread. Most of my coins are rare and in the 100 to 300 range. My more valuable ones I consider much more common. (Although by BNB's standards, they're probably extremely rare!) Furthermore, I can know, easily, how rare my coins are with some good research. But pricing is a much more arbitrary thing. I won't know on many unless I put them in an auction. Even then, if two crazies decide they want the coin, it suddenly becomes much more valuable!

I finally went with this. Technically, it cost me only 350, but I think I got it at a steal. There are only approximately 100 retarrifed bronzes known FOR ALL TYPES, most not nearly as nice as this.

I would like to sincerely apologize to those who felt I snub snobbed them. All I wanted to do was impose a filter and see what your true dream coins were that were very very rare..

    That's all.

I know apologies don't go far on these forums since they are eaten right up and discarded, but I would feel like a jerk not to offer one. Regardless if I get one back or not from those who willingly deserve to give it.

I must confess that I was confused somewhat as well. The coin I posted is one of my dream coins, dreamed about owning for a number of decades, one of those I never thought I could ever own. Well circumstances change, funny how 30 or 40 years can do that ;), and now I own one.

Enjoyed seeing some great pics of some great coins.

Well, I think what you were asking was hard to understand...I originally thought you were asking about coins in our collections only because the title began with "Your rarest...". Next time, just ask "What is your Dream Coin?" I think you will find that almost everyone has a dream coin that is both rare and valuable. Those who don't will probably come up with something very interesting and that alone will make it worth the read. There is no need for a filter on one's dreams.

I didn't mean to fuel the fire, but sometimes you make posts asking for opinions and then argue people's opinions. A lot of people find that frustrating, myself including and will defend their thoughts. Then, we end up here. I'm sorry for my part in it.

I apologize for calling you an elitist if that's not what you are, and I thank you for apologizing to those you offended.

I don't know. I just reread the first post and it sure sounds like it has to be a coin in your collection...which didn't end up being the original intention.

That is one interesting coin. The obverse or profile reminds me of the rhinoman in the old spiderman cartoons - just missing the horn. Very cool coin.

The marks on the coin look almost as old as the coin itself.
Early day chopmarks? Really nice coin.

All I can say is..."WOW." Now there is a coin that is both rare and valuable. Very nice!
