no, that is the FS-01-1982-1801. The coin pictured above is the discovery coin. Only one other has been recorded since I found this one in 2007.

No...USUALLY it actually doesn't, and if you need me to show you, I have evidence to support my case.

physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

That's awesome. Sounds kinda like my 1951 Franklin DDR-005, which I discovered. As far as I know, only one other has been found. (see the strong doubling on the bottom of the bell, its also present on the clapper, eagle, and evident on the bell lines)

The main part of my collection is German coins. Here are two you do not see everyday. One is a 1745 Pattern silver 1.25 Ducat, and the other is a 4 Taler piece.

edited to add: I did not take these photos

Thank you. This guy has been badgering me from day one, so I'm glad some of you are seeing through it. Stainless might I add is another one, tmoneyeagles was another, krispy at times.. There are just a few bad eggs on all forums, but thankfully, most of you have been fine.

I'm done with you, you're just too darn confrontational with me and I'm getting burned out. You're acting no higher than a 15 year old with these back and forth trigger finger arguments, and boy, do I hate arguing with kids..

I was just trying to help you understand that just becuase it is valuable, doesn't mean it is rare, and vice versa. But if you want to be in your own littlw world about this, maybe you can do that alone, and not come on a forum where you know people are going to try to correct you for the benefit of helping you.

You're right, I shouldn't argue with you. sorry. I sometimes forget that young people know nothing and it would only be natural for some to go into their ageist BS routine.

Just so you know, it's people like you with your confrontational badgering attitudes that drive people from forums like these away..
You weren't helping. If you call this helping, wow. Your tone gave it away. It was very put-downish from the start and I don't even know if you realize that. You think it's "the old teaching the young", well, in my world, everybody is an equal and deserves to be treated as such.

All I did was make a post innocently asking for people's thoughts on a matter and you were one of the first to challenge it and derail it with stuff non related to the post. Good meaning people see that and it scares them, because they don't like the feelings it makes them feel. Actually, I don't like those feelings either. So hopefully, those few of you who do get your jollys off on challenging me word for word will see that I won't tolerate the demeanor of some of you towards me and others too will not tolerate it.

    Good people stick together.

    Really?

Basically, what you did was put a $500 limit on a coin, so a lot of couldn't post here, and when you were told that coins could be unique, but not worth $500, or close to it, we were the ones wrong. That, and you called my coins cheerios, so you deserve anything I throw at you.

Hmm , total mis construing of words.

    I said $500 and up.

And I said for a rare RARE coin, anything below $500 in my books would be something outta a cheerios box because the rule was, it must be $500 and above to qualify as something of worth for this thread. I've made it clear countless times this is not a "which coin do you value" thread. It's a thread of which coin do you find being the rarest and you want to own it. Now there is not just ONE rare coin that stumps all other coins, no. But there are coins out there that are mint 1 or mint 50 that I would put very highly on my list and would value(and the public would value) way over $500. That's why the minimum was imposed. So people don't start mis-reading the thread and posting $250 coins that they find very valuable and may be rare for its class. That's not what I'm looking for here.

Actually when you guys started with the "Cheerio" stuff, I thought the reference was to the Cheerio cent or dollar, but I see I was incorrect thinking it was about coins.

I'm an FE nut so I see the S-9 as being rare also. One in MS is a really special coin to me.

I'll tell you a damn rare coin :D, a nice 1887 MS66PL Morgan, every one I find seems to be over-graded, or just not attractive (imo). The pop from both PCGS and NGC is a little under 100, I think, so there out there, I just can't find one I like :desk:.
    Lol, so did I.

So, even though my German coin is "rare" (which is defined in the dictionary as "Infrequently occurring; uncommon") due to it's condition...it doesn't qualify for this thread because of it's value...despite being much harder to find than a 1909-S VDB Cent in any grade? Then, the "terms" of this thread have nothing to do with rarity but have to do with value.

Also, that dollar from the Cheerio's box...does meet your $500 price minimum...so you should probably stop using that reference. ;)

I just knew asking for a definition of rare would make this thread interesting. :) I have several coins over $500, but I just don't consider them rare - or not the rarest in the world. And what really made me think of it was this contest which was a very interesting challenge. :)
