The final coin (please see my previous two posts of today) I am looking for a value for is this one, from an older thread.

I believe this is a coin from Constantius II. It's approximately 16 mm in diameter. Once again, all comments are welcome!

Please don't "flood" the board. We just had a spammer knock a bunch of threads off the front page this morning. One or, tops, two threads a day is common etiquette.
This coin is worth a dollar or two. Less if that's bronze disease.

Thank you, Ryro. I wasn't sure what was common etiquette, but thought I could probably get away with three posts today. I don't have any more coming up as this was it.

Sorry if that came off as grouchy. Looking closer I believe your correct that it is Constantius II, two soldiers two standards Constantinopolis. And with that handsome of a portrait you could probably fetch maybe ten or fifteen bucks. But again, that green stuff on the reverse, is it flaky and or does it come off when you scratch it with your nail? If so, please get it into distilled water to neutralize the BD. If not then it's just normal verdigris.

Thank you, Ryro, and no worries. About the distilled water, how long should I keep it in the water? About scratching the coin with my fingernail, please pardon this (possibly very stupid) question, but will that do any damage to the coin? It's not mine, and even if it turns out to be of little value, I need to make sure that I don't harm it in any way.

Bronze disease is flaky enough that you could run a Q tip across it and you would see little green flakes if it's disease. But no, a simple fingernail scratch won't do anything to an undiseased bronze coin...

Constantinople issues of these are not nearly as common as other mints. Nice portrait as Ryro said, and probably a decent value assuming you can remove the green funk.

Thanks, Ryro! I will try to get some distilled water this week. About that, how long do I keep it in water?

As for the fingernail work, I will try that, too. But this will probably all have to wait until next weekend--we'll see.

Reports range from a week to a month for BD treatment. Best is to try a few days and then wait a bit and see if it comes back. Rinse and repeat, literally

Let the coin soak in 6-8 oz. of distilled water (DW) for a 2-3 days, then empty the water, pat the coin dry and put it back in fresh DW. Repeat this process for 3-4 weeks. You'll want to let the coin sit out somewhere that you will see it often so that you can be sure the BD is completely removed and doesn't come back. If you don't see any signs of BD after 4-6 months, you can be pretty confident that you've cured it. If it does come back, just repeat the above process. About 5% of the coins that I've treated have required a second treatment. I've never had a coin required a third treatment (so far).

To repeat: you need to do this ONLY if the green stuff is soft and powdery. If it is hard and you can't remove any of it by rubbing your finger over it, it's not BD. The treatment I've described above will not help remove anything, but nor will it hurt it in any way.
