Heya guys, I just got the new Charlton guide 2010, and they went in depth with the varieties of 5 cent silvers. I have never really known much about the series but would love trying out my hand at identifying some varieties. Post 'em if you got 'em! 1858 - 1920

These are a few of my metal detecting finds. Unfortunately, because of the site they were dug in (hardpacked soil), I nicked them :headbang:. I've found about 15 this year. My oldest is 1893 but it's pretty smooth. Anyway, this is a sampling. This first one is in the best condition of them all (of course, it too, is nicked.)
Hello Green18, The Canadian silver 5-cent is not like the US silver Jefferson nickels during the war. The Canadian silver 5-cent coins are more akin to the US silver half dimes. Very best regards, collect89
Thanks '89. I'm totally a fish out of water regarding these issues but I'm lovin' the pictures. (info too)
The 1893 Looks like a 3 over 2. Is that a listed variety?? It is followed by a 1858 which looks like a large date over small date
