Just curious what people think are the best coin purchases they’ve made for under $100.

I’ll go first and say this 1925-S California Commemorative Half Dollar is mine. I’m from California so I had to get it. I feel like $95 was a great deal!

    Your turn. ^_^

Morgandude11 As long as it's Silver, I'm listening

Under a hundred for an undergraded 1946d Walker. In a newer holder this is at least a 66, or more.

Nice one! I have a Morgan Dollar in a holder just like that one.

    The one on the left.

I guess it's relative to what you collect and If it's truly coins then I would have to say my 3 PCGS PR70 PCGS Susan B Anthony Dollars. If it's coin related, I would have to say some of the very rare old bank bags for coins that I've purchased from Lancaster, Pa.

Yeah I know it is relative to what people collect and I’m just curious what people on here think is the best purchase they made for under $100.

Congrats on the Susan B Anthony’s!

    Thanks! It’s a great coin!

Nah the 1925-S California Diamond Jubilee commemorative half dollar is the only commemorative I have at the moment.

I am going to be picking up an MS-66 Oregon commem soon here when I get paid. It’s my second favorite of them all.

This will always be my all-time best buy. It cost me 68c from the Mint.

    Right @Cheech9712 ?

I've got one that's a little higher and one that's a lot lower - I got the 1944 Australian Florin (silver melt value $10.95) graded by PCGS as AU58, for $10.50, it's not worth a ton, but I really like it, and I bought a raw 1929 Standing Liberty Quarter for $125 that ICG graded as MS63 with the amazing Full Head "FH" designation (very strong strike) that's worth about $300 - more if I send it in to PCGS to have them slab it (maybe someday, so my heirs have an easier time getting rid of my lovelies) auflorin.jpg IMG_4037.JPG .

This one came in at $90. It gets pricey in upper grades. For example, if it were MS65 RB the price guide would be $12,500. (Not that I think that could really happen - but wouldn’t that be nice...) But, it’s really well struck, which is very uncommon for this issue, and beautifully toned - certainly worth 90 dollars.

I post this one too much. Only paid a few dollars for it. The die was clashed with the die from the $20 gold piece. Worth over $1000. Had an offer a few years ago of $1500.

    That Jubilee was a steal!

These are just 3 of my best that were less than $100 including delivery and getting them slabbed where applicable. One was less than $50. I'm still amazed that I got them at the prices I did.

The Stone Mountain Great Harvest Campaign is my favorite. You can read more about it here.

    Vertigo Did someone say bust?

Found this about a year ago. The auction was for a 1890 P but the coin pictured was an 1890 CC. They say coin pictured is the one you will receive, 30 day paid return. Nothing too lose. I'm not sure if the other bidder knew or not. I sniped this at the last second. Figured it was worth 50. Dropped 49.99 and won it

Sorry the old scan doesn't show the color, but this 1837 half dime has proof-like fields with dark metallic purple/blue toning. Bought in '02 on eBay for $99.95 1837 Half Dime.jpg
