Just post your AU58 (or AU63)

I’ll bet there are some pretty sweet AUs in the collections at Coin Talk. If you have a coin that is technically an AU & looks better than a gnarly MS60 or MS61, please post it here.

I do understand this concept of AU63. Still, even being aware of it (AU58 could be better than MS62), 2 weeks ago I've bought a half dollar 1915D MS61 in NGC holder. Could you please post a better picture of your coin so it will be clear what you want to point out?

I'm not pointing out anything that has not already been discussed at length on CT. I just want folks to post their pretty AU58 coins. Post em if you got em.

 

That Barber does look much better than an ms 60-62. Nice coin.
Personally, I would pay more for a AU 58 than I would for an ms 62, maybe even 63.

 

I took a quick look at most of my AU-58's.
None really look like they have eye-catching luster, the sort that would make you think "How could this be only AU?"
But most of them were about 150 years old or more so toning was to be expected.

 

PCGS AU58FH that looks like an MS

 

Yeh, THAT'S what I'm talking about.
It's certainly a "How can that only be AU?" coin.

There are FH's and then there are FH's.
The rivets and shield center appear fully struck.

This coin is an FH and then some.

 

Here's a NGC AU58 twenty cent that I thought looked like a primo AU58, but it was technically barely circulated

 

That's why I wanted to compare it to mine MS61. Well, maybe somebody else post another barber half...

Here's an AU 1921 Peace $. I bought this after many disappointing buys and returns on ebay. I paid $135.
The mark on the face is dirt not a scratch.

Look very carefully at your S mint mark on the 20 cent piece. I think I may see the s over s "$" mint mark there.....

That has high relief with nice hair detail and luster.
