Hey guys, I was looking for one of these in nice shape, found this:

    s-l400 (14).jpg s-l400 (15).jpg
Looks like a bunch of fingerprints on both sides?

If so, can they be removed?

    The coin is $22.

    Thanks in advance!

Try an acetone rinse, if the fingerprints aren't etched into the metal they should come off.

I'll take a chance on it! It's a nice looking coin.

Will acetone remove the mild toning on the reverse, or no issue?

Finger prints that have been on a coin like this for more than a few days, often are not removable with acetone. A quick dip might help, but then you stand the chance of damaging the coin permanently. If you really want the coin, the price looks affordable enough to buy and maybe up-grade later.

    No, the toning will stay.

The acetone dissolves the oils in the fingerprint. Otherwise it doesn't affect the surface of the coin.
