Do you have pics, I'd like to see a 64-D dollar. Odds are it is a half dollar.

Is there a woman on one side or a man? If it is a man (JFK) it is not a dollar coin.

I believe Doug had one a few years ago that he posted......not the coin off course....just a picture......or at least thats what he wants us to believe anyway.

Could be a fantasy piece too.....keep that in mind. Not all coins are real.

Please keep in mind - CoinTalk is a catch and release area only and barbed hooks are not permitted. Should catch your limit in about - oh - 3 hours.

I admit, I did. The ignorance of America's coinage older than about 1982 is great in the general populace, and especially the young. I would rather be fooled than not help bring someone else into the hobby.

What does 1982 have to do with anything. It rings truer without "older than about 1982" in there.

In my conversations with non collectors, I find that most are aware of the cent composition change in 1943, 1982,the removal of silver coinage in 1965, state quarters. Even though I show them the new Lincoln 2009 cents, almost none are aware of it. I chose 1982 as a relative point. Most don't know the actual dates, such as 1943, 1965,1982, etc. , just the changes. I think the zinc Lincolns are known because of various tv and articles when copper was reaching highs, telling people to collect pre-1982 cents and hoard them. IMO.
