I have this really abused dateless nickel that has an unusual error. Well it's unusual in my book anyways. Does anyone know what could have happened to this nickel and what is the name of the error? The word "Pluribius" has been imprinted under the Indian's jaw. In advance, I absolutely can not take better pics. I gotta get me a tripod, some of these pics take a steady hand which I don't always have. There are actually more marks on the nickel which are obviously from machinery, but I am just unable to do any justice with my photography skills or lack thereof. Anyone?
I have two. 1925-S and a 1934. They show up pretty clear but I haven't seen anything in CherryPicker's about them.
Have never seen them on ebay. Yours a pretty good spread of the pluribus, my 2 show the plu, but yours is easy to pick out. I have checked it out and this was the only thread I have found where someone else, you, have this type of error.
Here is the thread I posted on one of mine. It includes a photo of the reverse, showing the clash on that side. Check yours for similar. http://www.cointalk.com/t42690/#post445121 Jim
