I recently 'bought' a $25 roll of Jefferson presidential dollars in a N.F. String & Son Inc. wrapper, both ends are tails though; there also is some light spots starting to form on the ends. So my question is there a premium? Or just look through the roll for anything perfect or errors or leave it alone?

P.S. Thomas Jefferson is printed on the roll, that's how I know what type the coins are.

    Thanks

Nothing unique about the wrapper. I say "crack it" and see what's inside. Could score an error or two.....:)

There's more of these rolls out there than you can shake a stick at Penny Fanatic. Listen, I'll let you in a little secret. The US Mint sells these rolls at a huge premium. I think these String & Son guys package the rolls for the mint too except that the mint wrapper is rather unique. Much to the chagrin of many on this board, I collect them. Why? Why not. But, I don't expect these rolls to appreciate at all in the future. It's just something that I started and now (that I'm into it) I feel behooved to complete it. Forget the fact that I'm payin' too much money for these things. :)
