You know, I think this is an interesting concept for those who care. Having a thread dedicated to finding those deal/steals. Now you may say, "well, once you show it to all, it is no longer a secret" True, but there's so much out there that not everyone has the money to afford it. So let's try to put it in here. Any deal/steals you find on ebay lately, post right here. Let's look at them and see if there is still hope on the bay.
The problem is that people probably will not agree on what is a steal or deal. They are out there, but take a lot of searching - in my opinion.
no, you can, just look for it. there are things i'm sure that are being sold on ebay that we don't know about yet.
Great Idea, looka here, an 1892 barber half for buy it now 4.99 http://cgi.ebay.com/Proof-Mini-1892...911QQcmdZViewItem?rvr_id=&itemid=300356664911 Now all I will need to get is a coin enlarger....
to try to find a deal on eBay, you really need to search for Buy it Now auctions where the seller lists a coin for way too low. They are somewhat rare, and when one is listed it usually sells quick, but I've bought my fair share Trying to find an auction format listing that is a good deal while it is still a live auction is pretty much impossible since most auctions look like great deals until the last minute of bidding when all of the snipers come in and place their real bids.
Well my most recent were two 1909 VDB Lincolns graded PCGS MS65RB which were listed by the seller for $61 each as a Buy it Now. The PCGS Guide Value on each of these is $120. I bought them both and they looked great. Already have lots of these so I sold them at the next coin show I attended for $80 each to the first dealer I showed them to. Probably could have gotten more, but I wasn't in the mood to be too greedy. I'll keep keeping my eye out for more though
You can sometimes get a good deal if the seller isn't a good speller. I've bought a couple good Buffalo Nickels because the seller called them nickles. It sometimes pays to search for the wrong spelling.
IMO do a search on US coins using "ICG" as your search parameter. It's a legit TPG but many people shy away from it because they don't know that. I suspect LOTS of bargains there. I can give this bit of info away because I do Registry Sets therefore I only buy NGC and PCGS.
You're hilarious. Thanks for nothing except where do I send the money to help build the shrine in your holiness's honor. PRICELESS!
It's easier to find a deal on eBay than it is to find an idiot on CoinTalk. ...and that ain't hard to do. This is, without a doubt, the nastiest bunch of people I have ever been around. I blame it on the moderators, and the site administrator. For these guys....it's about advertising dollars. It's not about numismatics. I'd be willing to bet that Doug never even reads what goes on here....just cashes the checks from advertisers. Shame too. At first glance, this appears to be a nice forum. Over...and out. Nightowl
You think these guys are bad?? Try posting that at CU..those trolls would pull yer heart out and eat it in front of you....
