I guess Maine is the last to get new coins. I have not seen a 2009 cent, nickel or dime in Portland.

Ive seen plenty of 2009 pennies and several 2009 dimes. Not so much nickels. Now if I can see more "P" mint coins I would be happy.

Not true Ed. There is nothing here either, about a mile outside of Washington, D.C. I still have not seen a D.C. quarter yet.

In southern Michigan all I have seen so far are LP1, LP2, and LP3 cents. Both P and D. No nickels, dimes, or quarters yet.

I live in the San Diego area and have gotten all of the pennies so far and all the quarters minus the Virgin Islands... But, NO nickel or dime yet!:headbang:

I have gotten all but LP4, but mintages for all coins are way way down this year - a sure sign if any that we are in a recession. Coin demand is low, so banks are drawing on supplies of past years coinages resulting in low orders from the mint - and low mintages.

plenty of 09 cents in Texas, have seen most of the quarters in circulation, have gotten a lot of 09P dimes, but no nickels or the elusive D dime.

I've seen ONE '09 cent and it was the obverse in someone's cash register. I've seen some in California and Nevada. I've seen 3 DC quarters, a Guam and a Puerto Rico. No nickels or dimes.

I got a couple of the VI quarters in change the other day - frankly I don't even follow or save them - they have no interests to me.

Here in central IA, I have seen all the quarters and cents to date, but still no dimes or nickels.

I seen one quarter (D), several cents (P), and several presidential dollars (P). I've seen no nickels or dimes in central NY and really no D's. I got the D quarter as a rebate for shipping from an ebay seller on the west coast. He's aces with me!

I've seen plenty of lp1 through lp3 cents, all the quarters that have come out so far, and a few dimes. The nickels don't seem to show too often though. I imagine in the next few months I'll be seeing a lot more as the local economy always booms with commerce when the snowbirds arrive and start spending that retirement money.

I'm from NJ and I have friends who are bartenders keep their eyes out for coins for me and one found me an 09 P nickel the other day, but besides that and the LP1,2 and 3 pennies I haven't seen anything else.

I live in central CT and I have found LP1-3 of the cents and one 09 dime (I haven't searched too many rolls other than nickels and pennies this year), all P mint, with ONE D mint LP-2. I've seen all the quarters too but I don't collect the comm rev quarters yet (I don't like em) so I couldn't tell you which mints.

I think the majority of the coinage hasn't been released into circulation yet, or has been released in small quantities in separated regions as needed. I've seen probably 85% LP-2 cents, 11% LP-3s and 4% LP-1s. I have no explanation as to why other than my region likely got a good percentage of the LP-2 coins while other regions got more of the other two. I noticed the same thing with the westward journey nickels. I found a LOT of ocean views while it seems that they were rarer in more western states.

Anyone know how the mint ships out its coins? I can imagine they ship to a relatively limited number of facilities around the country, and the coins are supposed to move around from there. That could explain why an extreme location (like Portland, ME) would take a much longer time to see new coins, they might not travel much farther north than Boston.

I've run across a number of Lincoln's, sorry I am not used to calling them cents. :D I haven't seen any dimes or nickels and if anyone wants any maybe you should order from the US mint. That way you would have a couple, 2009 dime and nickel anyways:secret:.

I have not seen a single 2009-dated coin at all in south Florida. This is the longest stretch of time I have never seen a current date coin in the 40 years I have been a collector.

I've only found the first Lincoln cent, and a D.C. quarter in Wisconsin. Both were from Denver. If anyone is looking for the '09 nickels, I saw some hammer heads selling them for $40 per roll on cable. I'm sorry, but I have a lot better places for that amount of money!!!
